We are a community of believers who gather in the name, wonder and power of Jesus Christ. We are glad you have chosen to visit us and we encourage you to explore this site to get an idea of who we are and how we live out our faith. There is, however, no better way to get to know us than to worship alongside us or gather in one of our many small groups to study, serve, and learn. You are welcome to come join us anytime as we weave the stories of our lives together with the eternal truths of God's story, confident that God's Spirit is at work and certain that God's heart is inclined towards us in grace and in love. Welcome! God's joy, peace and blessings be yours!
Mount Calvary is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are unabashedly Lutheran.
Evangelical: believing the love of Jesus Christ is good news for all God's children, proclaiming clearly God's gospel of grace, and inviting all to "Come and see" what Jesus is doing through us and in the world.
Lutheran: a family of congregations within the Christian community who believe the Church should always be reforming around the Gospel and in the power of God's Spirit. We are heirs of the reformer Martin Luther, who emphasized the centrality of Scripture and Jesus with the words "grace alone, faith alone, scripture alone."
Church: people gathered who love God and who love neighbor in the Spirit of Jesus. We believe and live in the truth that Jesus made the people of God inclusive, not exclusive; servants, not superior; humble, not arrogant; motivated by the love of our Creator, not fear.
America: located in a land we love, serving an even greater kingdom. A people with a proud and diverse heritage, committed to a faithful pursuit of founding principles like freedom and justice for all throughout God's world and not narrowed by arbitrary borders.
Come worship, visit, study, laugh, seek, find, knock, serve and play alongside us. See if the vision Jesus has placed in our hearts lines up with the one that is stirring in you. Come and let us learn what God is doing in your life and listen alongside us for the voice of God calling us to abundant life. In the words of one of our hymns, "All are welcome in this place."
