THEY ARE US
Pastor Dave will be leading our discussion of the book They Are Us beginning January 15. This book addresses the American story of immigration and how the scriptures command us to “Remember, you were once the stranger, the alien, and the endangered.” It begins with Biblical references to migrating people and some of the reasons they left their homes - famine, political oppression, and the search for better lives. It goes on to tell the story of Lutheran immigration and how our ancestors encountered both hostility and hospitality in the New World.
They Are Us is available for purchase at the Welcome Desk, or on Amazon. For more information, contact Chris Anderson.

We are LUTHERAN
We are CHURCH TOGETHER
We are CHURCH FOR THE SAKE OF THE WORLD
The intent of this Bible study is to encourage exploration and discussion of ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton’s four emphases. We will do this by delving more deeply into Bible texts related to each emphasis using the four lenses of the Book of Faith methods of Bible study: Devotional, Historical, Literary and Theological. The four lenses are intended to honor and learn the context in which they were written. and to connect with our own contemporary contexts.
