Mount Calvary Youth Choirs

What We Are About

The Children and Youth Choirs of Mount Calvary are open to all children, grades 1-12, who love music and singing. No audition is required - only a love of singing and learning great music!

Through developing healthy singing and with a commitment to musical excellence, participation in the choir program enables students to work to their full potential. As a ministry of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, the choirs deepen the faith of the students involved and touch all those who hear them sing. Come and be a part of the Mount Calvary Youth Choirs for the 2009-2010 program year.

*Cantate Choir

The Cantate Choir is for students in grades 1-5 and meets Tuesday afternoons from 5:00 to 6:00pm. This choir functions as a training choir with emphasis placed on the basics of singing: posture, breathing, tone production, and reading music.

*Sanctus Choir

The Sanctus Choir is for girls and boys with unchanged voices in grades 6-8 and will meet Wednesday evenings from 5:00 to 6:00pm. Singers continue to hone the singing and musical skills they learned in the Cantate Choir, and focus on developing musicianship and leadership.

*Bel Canto Choir

The Bel Canto Choir is a treble choir for girls in 9th-12th grade. The rehearsal schedule varies.

*All Youth Choirs sing about once a month and for holiday and festival Sundays.
