Congratulations on your decision to be married!

Thank you for considering celebrating your wedding at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Mount Calvary is a Christ-centered, Lutheran community of faith boldly proclaiming the grace and love of God revealed in the Cross and person of Jesus Christ. As a community of believers, our calling is to make, build up, and send out disciples of Jesus Christ. It is our hope that by choosing a church setting for your wedding celebration you recognize God’s intentions for marriage and affirm those intentions for your marriage.

As you prepare for this happy occasion with excitement and joy, please consider the following information concerning weddings at Mount Calvary.

• Mount Calvary does accommodate member and non-member wedding requests. Due to our proximity to a number of reception sites and Lake Minnetonka, we receive many non-member requests. Our policy is to consider requests by non-members on a case by case basis. They are evaluated in light of any relationships to our congregation or its members or in regard to any compelling reasons why a wedding cannot be held within one’s own congregation or be officiated by one’s own pastor. We do not accommodate requests based solely on proximity to reception sites or the desirability of our sanctuary. • A Mount Calvary pastor presides at all Mount Calvary weddings. Guest clergy are welcome to participate, however, if you would like other clergy to participate in your wedding, make your request to the wedding coordinator and discuss this with the pastor assigned to your wedding at Mount Calvary before arrangements are made with the guest clergy.

• Premarital preparation and counseling is required for all couples being married at Mount Calvary. This includes completion of the PREPARE inventory, counseling sessions with the officiating pastor and/or a certified marriage counselor and attending premarital retreat offerings at Mount Calvary.

• Because Mount Calvary offers a Saturday night worship service at 5:00pm the latest a wedding can be scheduled is 3:00pm. (All pictures must be completed before the ceremony for a 3:00 wedding.)
